Paris in August.
Bonjour!
Je m'appelle Judy. My husband and I are going to Paris in August. I have taken French since middle school. I quizzed myself to see how much I remembered with your software. My vocabulary wasn't too shabby. Mais, mes verbs... Zut! So, I am not fluent even after all of these years. But I would really like to be before we get to Paris. Any suggestions for people who want to review and move forward. Also, I have heard Paris is less crowded in August. Is this true? Are most places closed? Avez-vous des recommandations pour notre vacances?
Merci,
Judy

Hi there,
how was your trip? I hope you had a lovely time. Did you see the Tour de France?

Re: Paris in August.
Salut mes amis!
I know this is a post from last year but if anyone else is thinking of going in August (in any year!) then I might be able to help as we were in Paris last July and August.
Personally I think July and August are the best months to go as you get to experience 'normal' Paris in July when there are people everywhere and a slightly quieter version in August when the French leave town! A lot of shops close down for a couple of weeks at the start of August but, being a tourist destination, there are always enough open to get by!
Even better the Paris Plage is open from mid-July to mid-August. The Plage (beach) is a man-made beach along the banks of the Seine. Lots of lazing in the sun and doing all the free activities, like table tennis, gym workouts, evening concerts, etc. C'est bon!
Amicalement!
